Milo arrived and I don't know where to start! The Viking Stone Lifting Challenge looked like great fun. A trip to Iceland has got to be on the cards now.

Default Iceland 2009

Alan, my name is Bill Hime. I am in the very early stages of planning a trip to Iceland next summer, possibly June, to carry the Kviahellan on the anniversary of my 19 yr old daughter's passing. Sarah lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis but she fought without pause right to the end. It was our war but she carried the heaviest burden,(the heaviest Stone).
While the Kviahellan pales in comparison to her task, my focus is to carry this stone for both of us, to honor her strength.
I would like to get to know all of you in the stone community better over this winter.
Train smart, Live smart...Bill Hime

Hi Bill. Welcome to the forum and a very humbling and inspirational addition. I sent you a personal e-mail.

Thanks Roger. Glad you enjoyed the write up in Milo. Honestly though the thanks are to you and the others who went and gave their all. Also, I have become your number one fan as I love the articles you write. This months article about the dumbbell C&J is priceless. Well done.

Petur and Stefan will be here tomorrow for the New Hampshire Highland Games so I will tell them hello from you Roger.

Bill

Default regards to Iceland.

Bill,

Please give me fondest regards to Petur and Sefan, I watched Stefans progress on the Highlander Challenge with some pride.

Hope your Highland games event goes well.

Glad you like the MILO all round lifting articles, I am just finishing off the next one.

regards

Roger

It clearly takes longer for it to get all the way down here, my Milo arrived yesterday - but haven't had a chance to have a look yet - had forgotten that it would contain the full Iceland story and as always Roger's article - now a regular, eh !?
Looking forward to it doubly !
And doesn't that 3 months seem so long.

Also just got my Milo
Went straight to the stones (of course)
Great article Bill and some excellent photos, very inspiring
Congrats to you and Roger and all the other stone lifters that put themselves up for the greatest strength challenge - manhood stones!!
Hope the arm is healing and big stones are starting to leave the ground once again.

Hello Regan, It's been a while since we have heard from you my friend. The arm is doing great and big stones are going up again. I will continue the stone training and my renewed efforts with throwing in Highland Games.

Roger, I am going to make this public. I have mentioned many times that you have a great book in you about All-Around Lifting. Your technical expertise and historical knowledge are evident but your passion for the subject shows through and that is what makes a great book. Show me another book that is is in circulation at this time that is about the All-Around Lifts. I don't know of one. Sorry to call you out in front of the others, but if we all get behind you I know you can produce a classic text. Just my opinion.

Keep pulling. Bill
